In this episode of the Heallist Podcast, we explore the difference between adding more to your wellness routine and clearing what's underneath it with Meghan Swidler. After leaving a career in technology and venture capital, Meghan built a practice centered on cellular detoxification and root-cause health. She also advises consumer health venture capital funds and invests in innovative companies such as Function Health, bringing together perspectives from both the wellness and investment worlds. Together, we discuss why supporting the body's natural detoxification pathways may be a foundational step before pursuing optimization or biohacking strategies.

Drawing from her work with clients, Meghan explains common misconceptions about detoxification, why symptoms can serve as important signals, and how body awareness can support more informed health decisions. We also explore body literacy, lab testing, and the value of taking a simpler, more intentional approach to long-term well-being.

This conversation is shared for educational and reflective purposes, offering perspectives on holistic detoxification without prescribing specific protocols or treatment approaches.

Key takeaways include:

  •  Why adding more supplements, peptides, and protocols may not help when the body's drainage and detox pathways are congested
  • What "normal" lab results can miss — and why the timing and context of a test matter as much as the number
  • The quiet everyday signals Meghan pays attention to
  • Why she works in a sequence and what can happen when people jump straight to parasite, mold, or heavy metal cleanses
  • Why high performers are often the most dysregulated group despite looking the healthiest
  • How Meghan thinks about detox beyond the physical
  • What to look for when evaluating wellness products and companies in an unregulated market

Welcome And The Core Question

Yuli

Welcome to the Heallist Podcast, where we unpack the many layers of holistic health. I'm Yuli, founder of Heallist, your portal to holistic healers worldwide. Now let's go deep. Hello, dear friends, and welcome to the Healers Podcast. If this content resonates, please hit subscribe or follow to support its independent content. And today we're talking about the difference between adding more to a wellness routine and actually clearing what's underneath it. My guest is Meghan Swidler, a holistic health and detox coach who left a career in tech and venture capital to build a practice around cellular detox and root cause healing. And she also advises consumer health VC funds and she's an angel investor in function health and B sound health. Welcome, Meghan. I'm really excited to have you here. And as I told you, I've been following you on LinkedIn and your amazing content for a while. So this is like a little bit of a fan moment for me to meet finally.

Meghan

Thank you. And yeah, thank you so much for having me. I so appreciate it.

Yuli

Amazing. So today the topic is, and it's really to me, uh, it's a little personal as well, because we want to talk about this high achiever wellness trap. And I personally belong to that group because I am a overachiever. I'm in wellness. I follow million protocols, optimization hacks, I mean, uh routines, you name it, right? But I also work with a lot of incredible holistic practitioners and coaches just like yourself. And I know deep inside that the real work is the basics, right? So let's just set the let's frame it for people. And what's your philosophy on the right balance?

Meghan

Yeah, so that's a really good question. And I think, yeah, I think the days of optimization are really coming to this tipping point or will be coming to this tipping point very, very soon. We really live in this add more culture, especially in America, but really everywhere, especially when it comes to the longevity and health movement as it exists today, more supplements, more AI, more biohacks, more peptides, more protocols. I think, especially with Instagram and TikTok and social media and LinkedIn and Substack, there's always the feeling like you need to add more. But when it comes to your physical body, if your detox pathways are congested, adding more just piles on top of an already overloaded system. You can't optimize a body that's congested and you can't heal in the same environment that made you sick. So, giving you a couple of examples there, like you can't pour gas into a car with a broken engine. You actually have to fix the engine of the car. If a fish is sick, you don't medicate the fish, you clean the tank. And the same thing applies to your body. And I really think that, and trust me, I'm fall into the camp of the high-performing overachiever type A, just like you. And I went through this myself. But I really think that, you know, if your liver is overburdened, your colon is sluggish, your lymphatic system is stagnant, your drainage pathways aren't open, no amount of supplements, biohacking, or optimization is actually going to create lasting results. At best, you'll get temporary improvement, and at worst, you'll actually feel worse. And detox before optimization isn't about doing less forever. It's about clearing what's in the way first. And once the system is flowing, the body becomes incredibly responsive and then optimization actually works. I really think that people who are, you know, type A, high performing, overachieving tend to fall into this optimization camp. They feel like, well, I need to do more and add more to feel better, right? So people are over-indexing on supplements, on peptides, on biohacks, on, you know, a 20-step morning routine and another 20-step evening routine and all these different tools and gadgets. When in reality, what I'm seeing, generally speaking, in that group of people is that they're the most dysregulated from a nervous system standpoint. They're sleeping the least, they're drinking the most amount of cups of coffee a day. Um so even though they externally look or act healthy on the inside, they're actually deeply suffering. And so what I mentioned about the body also applies to the mental, emotional, spiritual realm, right? It's not just about freeing your body from all of the physical blockage that is weighing you down, but it's also about freeing yourself from the notifications, from scrolling, from constant stimuli, from from clutter, from really everything. And I think that the people who are, you know, the high performers could benefit probably the most from not only this physical detox that I'm talking about, but also the mental, emotional, spiritual detox, like digital detox, going out into the woods in nature and turning your phone off. And yeah, I think, you know, our culture right now is very caught up in optimization. When I actually think that detoxification and subtraction is really the most liberating thing that any single person can do to actually fully optimize their health and their life.

Yuli

So before we go deeper into that idea of a date to aux, and again, speaking for experience and on behalf of all the Taipei overachieving people, what you're talking about is actually really hard to diagnose, right? Because for many of us, when you just go to your regular annual physical, everything might look normal, right? And you might be lucky not to have any major diseases and conditions that kind of force you to look deeper. Some of those things are really hard to diagnose. And I think a lot of people live in this trap of, okay, I'm spinning my will. So I'm adding, like, you know, it's easier obviously to add a supplement, right? Because it's something you buy and it gives this promise of optimization. But how do you really know when something is off? Like with some of those pathways that you mentioned are clogged, right? Like I know personally it's really hard. So like you need to have either incredible like functional medicine practitioner or do million different tests to even like diagnose something like this.

Meghan

Yeah, so I really believe in the power of lab testing, of course. I'm an angel investor in function health, and I think data can be really illuminating. But in a lot of cases, with labs specifically, you know, what's considered normal is not necessarily optimal. So with function, what's great is that you can look and see what is the actual optimal range to see what's out of balance. But when you're given a normal lab result, it doesn't necessarily mean that everything is normal, right? I had a woman, I have a female client who was told that her progesterone was normal. Um, and it was said it's at a normal range in her labs. When I dug into it, it was measured on day 27 of her cycle. And her progesterone was extremely, extremely, extremely low. So her lab said, oh, this should, this is normal. But in fact, it was very far from normal because of the day that she collected. And so, and labs only give you part of the story, right? Data only gives you part of the story. And I think body literacy and awareness is the only optimization that no one is actually selling you and is the most important thing. So your physical symptoms. I just published a Substack yesterday called, you know, 25 quiet signs that your toxic load is too high. And there are signs that the body is dysregulated, right? Like you have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep. You wake up at 2 to 4 a.m. every single night and can't fall back asleep during that window. And you have gut issues like bloating gas, constipation, diarrhea, irregular bowel movements. You have, if you're a woman, especially, you have an irregular cycle or you have PMS issues, you struggle with acne or dermatitis or eczema or psoriasis or rashes, you have, you know, dry skin, you have brittle nails, you have brittle hair, you have extra weight gain, you feel inflamed, you have dark circles under your eyes, right? Like every physical symptom, and I can literally list 30 to 50 symptoms and keep going, but every physical symptom is a physical manifestation of underlying imbalance within the body, right? The symptom is not the cause, it's the effect. The root is typically gut imbalances, hormonal imbalances, an overwhelming toxic load, nutrient deficiencies, and so on and so forth. But the symptom is the physical manifestation of that. So a lot of people today are just kind of going about their days accepting symptoms that they have as normal, right? So, like I have people coming to me saying, like, oh yeah, I feel decent. Um, and then I'll dig in further. And it's like they have gut issues, hormonal issues, skin issues, et cetera. Um, but they're not fully aware that those are issues because they've lived that way for so long. And so when it comes to your physical health, I encourage you to not only look at the data, right? We have so much data at our disposal. You can order any tests in the book and you can get any data you want on your health, but to also actually take a moment to tune into your physical body and also to your mental, emotional, spiritual bodies. It's not just the physical, right? Like really check in with your body and see like what is coming up for me right now, symptom-wise, mentally, like what is coming up for me, emotionally, what is coming up for me, spiritually, what is coming up for me, and actually like let your body guide the way. And your body is never trying to hurt you, it's always trying to help you. So, in giving you a signal, it's actually a sign that there's something underlying that needs to be addressed. And so, yeah, I really think that the qualitative inputs and the symptoms and data that your body is giving you are, you know, is just as important as the quantitative inputs that you might get in the lab test.

Yuli

Amazing. No, I can definitely relate to that. And also like on a personal note, I think sometimes, like, especially again, not to come back to the overachieving people and highly functional people, we tend to downplay some of those symptoms, right? And we just, or we just think, okay, it's part of the aging, or you know, I'm like, I'm in a perimenopause, so I'm supposed to be feeling this way, and we kind of downplay the importance, and a lot of us just kind of learn to live

Quiet Signs Your Load Is High

Yuli

with this. And that's why I do believe in the power of holistic practitioners, because unless you have a guide, someone who can look objectively, right, and all of this, and first of all, give you the time to listen, right? And and and actually take it seriously. Because I think another issue is a lot of the traditional medical system dismisses those symptoms as unimportant because, again, it's not a major disease they they should care about.

Meghan

For sure. Yeah, I'll give you an example. I had a consult with someone yesterday, and he came in being like, I feel like I have symptoms of anxiety, but I don't feel particularly anxious. And we started going through, you know, psoriasis and gut issues and incomplete elimination, and yeah, waking up in the middle of the night and heart palpitations and sweatiness and feeling like I need to faint. And it's very obvious that that's a blood sugar issue, right? So waking up between 1 to 3 a.m. is blood sugar time, psoriasis is a liver issue, blood sugar is also a liver issue, um, liver is backed up because the gut is also backed up. And so, yeah, like, you know, I brought to awareness like, oh, there's these physical, you think, you know, you chalk it up to anxiety or aging or whatever stress or whatever other thing you think it could be and say it's normal. When in reality, oftentimes there can be physical reasons behind symptoms that you're experiencing. And you need a practitioner to actually be able to very quickly and easily identify the root cause. You know, in my case, I've seen this hundreds and hundreds of times. So I'm able to like really identify that quickly and to bring awareness to like what could be going on within the body and to guide you through how to resolve it, of course. So that's just an example that came to mind that was recent, but it happens all the time.

Yuli

Yeah, no, this is fascinating. And I think we're missing um practitioners who are able to piece together a lot of those different symptoms. And I think again, this is where the traditional healthcare is so limiting, right? Because they would stop if you go into see like gas like a gastro doctor, he would stop at the gut, but everything else is connected. And uh, how do you how do you do it all? How do how are you able to look as a practitioner in the whole person and address it?

Meghan

Yeah, well, I built this over many years. I healed myself in my 20s. I had gut issues, I had hormonal imbalances from an IUD, I had cystic acne on my face and my back, and I tried conventional medicine, I tried even functional medicine, which I call pharma 2.0 sometimes because they just prescribe a million supplements. And I wasn't getting the solution that I wanted and needed. And so I went down my own holistic rabbit hole and essentially discovered detoxification, colon cleansing, liver cleansing, parasite cleansing, and healed myself completely from the inside out. And then, yeah, quit a VC job to do this full time. And so I say that because I built my whole methodology, not only helping hundreds of people, but also healing myself because there wasn't any other option for me at that time. And I wasn't okay with the solution of taking accutane or spironolactone or going back on birth control. And yeah, like this method that I built is really, I think people think of detoxification as restriction, as starvation, as a three-day juice cleanse or a parasite cleanse or a heavy metal detox because that's what you're sold on social media. But true deep cellular cleansing and detoxification is actually about supporting your body's natural detox pathways so that your body can come back into its true essence and come back to its innate wisdom and intelligence that's already within. And so I've built out a methodology that goes through really proper detoxification in the body's correct biological sequence. So starting with drainage and colon, moving into gut and terrain rebuilds, you have to start with the colon first before you can go deeper into any other organ and system within the body, because the organ, you know, the gut is the biggest channel of elimination. Once you clear the gut, you can actually rebuild the gut and repopulate the gut. That's where the gut and terrain rebuild happens. And then only then could you move deeper. So at that point, you can go into the liver, the kidneys, the gallbladder. If you're trying to detox the liver, but you're constipated, the byproducts that you're trying to release from the liver will have nowhere to go and recirculate through the body. And once that's clear, then you can move into parasites and pathogens. Parasites are usually a response or symptom of something underlying. And so you really want to deal with the gut and the liver before you actually try to eradicate parasites. And then only then can you move deeper into mold, heavy metals, and so on, because those are deeply stored within the cells and tissues. So it's really, you know, my mission in this lifetime is to really reposition what detox actually is. Because when I say the word detox to you or to anyone, they usually don't think the method that I'm mapping out. But true detoxification really is that. It's about kind of bringing your body back into its true essence. Going back to what you said earlier about high performers, the trap that high performers typically fall in when it comes to detoxification is they want to do everything really quickly and they want the quick fix. So they will buy the progressive parasite cleanse and be like, I'm gonna kill parasites, or they'll buy the mold detox because they want to eradicate mold, or they'll buy this crazy heavy metal detox. But in reality, when you do things out of order or your drainage pathways and detox systems do not have the capacity to handle an aggressive cleanse like a parasite cleanse or mold or heavy metal cleanse, it can actually make things worse instead of better. And so that's really the high performer trap when it comes to detox. And so I really pride myself in the methodology that I've built out because I'm really trying to bring people through this process in a way that actually nourishes and supports the body rather than depletes the body and gives your body time for rest, hydration, and integration. And yeah, like we just live in a world in which people just want the quick fix, they want results, ASAP. And I really stand by the method that I built out because I'm really trying to ensure long-term outcomes for my clients. And yeah, so that's kind of what I've built out, and this is kind of the way that I approach my work.

Yuli

Well, it's very fascinating, and I have so many questions because I recently started diving into a detox, to be honest, up until maybe a few months ago. I would not consider myself a client for detox because I believe in a more like balanced approach, and it always associated for me with something extreme, right? And I've seen people like going, either doing like juicing cleanse or like water fast, those things like never worked well for my body because it will put me like in a lot of stress. But recently I had an opportunity to do more like gentle detox, and I saw like just through nutrition, um, and I saw really incredible results. So I got more curious, right? But I also started seeing people who have incredible results with those like more extreme detoxes, right? Like a water fast, and you know, I have friends and people around me who are trying that and seeing. So

Building A Whole Person Method

Yuli

I'm just wondering, I have many questions here. We're gonna unpack that. But first, why didn't you choose, for example, one of those existing methodologies? And there's so many, like you mentioned today, and work with that. What did you decide to create your own methodology? And then what was that process like? And what was the process of proving the efficacy for that as well?

Meghan

Yeah, I mean, honestly, I built my methodology all through trial and error on myself. You know, I discovered colon cleansing and that really like moved the needle for me. That was the first thing I discovered in my 20s, and I started getting colonics and doing enemas and taking binders. And I, you know, I had already been eating healthy, but I was still having a lot of issues. I was still having acne and physical symptoms, even though it did move the needle. And then I discovered colon cleansing, that really moved the needle. And then I knew there was still a missing link because I still had acne. Then I discovered the liver. And I read this super old book called The Amazing Liver and Gallbladder Flesh by Andreas Moritz and went deep into that. And then I discovered parasite cleansing. And yeah, it really all came to be through trial and error. And yeah, and then I really just pieced together, just I guess logically, because of my own healing journey, that all of these steps have to happen in the body's correct biological sequence. Otherwise, things can get worse instead of better. And yeah, like I've done fasting, I've done a three-day fast, I've done a 14-day water fast, I've done extreme stuff as well. But I really wanted to, you know, especially for high performers, as you said, an extreme thing can be really highly dysregulating to the body, right? So if you're already in a dysregulated state, you're not sleeping well, your nervous system is fried, your cortisol is high, doing an extreme detox where you're actually depleting your body can actually really make you even further dysregulated. And so I knew that I wanted to build a method that was more long-term and actually supported the body in the right order with, you know, nourishment and instead of deprivation and restriction, and to actually give people the results that were long-lasting rather than a quick fix. And that's how my method came to be. And yeah, I mean, the the funny thing with detox is that there's very little research yet around toxicity and the impacts of toxicity, right? So I think we're gonna see in the next 30 to 50 years that toxicity is the root of so many physical ailments and disease. But I think we're just in the early innings of really understanding that. And yeah, so my method and why I know it works is the hundreds and hundreds of clients I've healed, um, reversing every gut issue under the sun, gastritis, Crohn's, ulcerative colitis, inflammation in the gut. Yeah, every skin issue, acne, psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, hormone imbalances, PMS issues, endometriosis, PCOS, adenomiosis, autoimmune issues. And I've done this over and over and over again. And of course, the method continues to refine as I continue to work with more people. But yeah, I think the biggest blocker with detoxification in the mainstream medicine world is that it's not backed or understood by mainstream medicine. There's no research to support all of the methods that I'm using, right? But I feel very confident that within the next few decades that we will see how healing these methods are. And I want to be part of that wave and hopefully play a part in the research as well.

Yuli

Yeah, it's definitely one of those areas. And I got to be honest with you, even as a podcast host, right? Somebody who's out there sharing information with people, that is often alternative. And it's so hard to make those choices and decisions. And I do feel deep responsibility with the content we produce. But I run into so many cases where it's a topic I want to talk about and

Why Extreme Cleanses Can Worsen Things

Yuli

it's a modality or a practitioner that I really believe in. But when you kind of start going through the checks and balances, you know, there's not much research. Urge to prove it. There is not much evidence. So I do choose to give platform to things that are alternative and unproven yet with a caveat, of course. We need to, everyone should have the discernment and and you know do their own checks and balances when it comes to holistic health and make their choices and use their intuition and their gut check, not pun intended, to find the practitioner they trust and really believe in the method. And I wonder if you have any advice for people who kind of on the edge and they're not sure if they can trust this because they're looking for more evidence and research.

Meghan

Yeah, you know, I encounter that a lot. I think there's certain people, there's kind of two groups of people. There's people that come to me because they've exhausted every option under the sun. They've tried conventional medicine. Let's say they have acne, they've tried accutane and spironolactone, and they've tried birth control, and then they went to functional medicine and they tried every supplement and peptide under the sun, but they're still having issues. So when they come to me and I explain the fact that their underlying terrain is still congested, which is why none of the inputs and optimization has worked, it typically just makes logical sense. Like when I use those analogies around that I said before, you can't pour gas into a car with a broken engine. You really have to fix the engine. If your sink is clogged, you don't keep pouring water, you actually have to unclog the sink. The same thing applies to your body. It all really makes sense for those people. And then there's the other group of people who might get sent to me via referral. And there is more resistance. And again, I go back to what I said earlier. Like, I think body literacy and body awareness and tuning into like your body and what your body is telling you is the most important thing. Like, does doing this make me feel expansive in my body? Does it make me feel excited? Do I feel certainty within my own body that this is right for me? Or does it make me feel contractive? Am I feeling like this isn't right for me? Or am I feeling like this isn't the right fit? And I think we always seek the answers outside of ourselves when the answers are always within us. And so, and especially with this work, I think it's really experiential. So sometimes I can start working with a client that might have a little resistance, but within a month, if their gut issues are completely gone and they're eliminating normally, and they have no bloating and gas and their skin is starting to clear, and they have the most easy cycle they've had in years, then they start to really believe in the work and become ultimately my biggest champions near the end. And because like I was able to reverse and heal what no other practitioner was able to do. And so, yeah, to answer your question, I think for people listening, there's so much out there. Um, and it can be really overwhelming. But I really encourage you to tune into a couple of things, to really tune into your body and what feels right for you. Cause I think no one else is going to give you that answer but you. And then, yeah, to really focus more on subtraction, not addition, to really focus on the outputs more than the inputs. Because again, we live in this constant optimization world. And we're constantly being sold peptides and biohacks and gummies and capsules and drink mixes and all sorts of things to optimize our health. But the biggest thing that will make the greatest shift is actually focusing on not only releasing the physical blockages within the body, but also the unresolved trauma block spheres that are blocking you from your true essence that is already within you. And that's like the biggest shift that I would love people to leave with because I think it's so important. And I think the next era of health is really mostly going to be about what you remove, not what you add.

Yuli

Amazing. I love this message. And since you have this visibility into the next era of health, can you share a little bit more of what you see from the inside? And to me, it seems like we're just entering this wellness explosion. It's still a little bit of a wild west, right? There's still a lot of things there that are just, you know, makes you cringe, question things. There's just a lot, right? And I feel like it's becoming harder and harder for a consumer to navigate the space and make their choices and they've being sold to constantly so many solutions, so many like quick fixes. And

Research Gaps And Proof In Practice

Yuli

what what do we see? Is there any like hope that things are just gonna be a little more organized and manageable, or are we gonna continue in this kind of wild west? And how can consumers navigate this crazy market more efficiently?

Meghan

Yeah, I totally agree. I mean, it is the wild rest. I just saw an ad. I mean, I get served a ton of ads because I'm in health and wellness, and I got just got served in ads that said Accutane isn't scary, still having acne is, and it said something about accutane will treat the root cause, which is totally untrue. The root cause of skin issues is gut imbalances, hormonal imbalances, toxic load, nutrient deficiencies, and so on, which I know very well because I've healed hundreds of people and have also healed myself. And so, yeah, just an example of like there are so many companies out there that are taking advantage of people. Um, I think, especially now with GLP1s coming into the mainstream, there are a lot of companies trying to ride the coattails of that and be like, here's this natural GLP one alternative, or here's what you can take to lose weight, just like a GLP one. And so, yeah, companies are really taking advantage of people. And yeah, I think, you know, with the movement towards AI and obviously the really big push into longevity and health, I think that the companies that are going to stand the test of time are actually like coming back to authenticity and integrity and humanness and are actually building like real health infrastructure, not just momentary excitement. And so, yeah, like the signals like I pay attention to are pretty consistent. Does this actually solve root problems for me instead of optimizing surface metrics? Does it actually

How To Decide the Right Detox Approach

Meghan

integrate with real human behavior, not some idealized version of people? Does this respect biology rather than trying to override it? Um, GLP1 is a perfect example of trying to override your biology. And most importantly, does it reduce long-term dependency on the healthcare system rather than deepen it? I think there will be a massive shift away from hype and towards, again, humanness and integrity and realness. And I think that's going to be really felt. And that's something that I really pride myself in as a practitioner. I'm never trying to sell someone anything. I'm really trying to just give value without expecting to receive anything in return and to really like be in integrity and be in authenticity and stay human. And so I think if you're out there and you're navigating the world, like really start to pay attention to that. I think companies that are going to do really well are companies that really leverage just being in their humanness and being in integrity and being authentic, especially with their marketing and their content. If I see anything that's promising me any supplement or peptide or thing that's promising me the world and promising to resolve all my physical symptoms, I stay far away from those things. I'm not the best target for that because I don't take anything. So yeah, I think that's what I would pay attention to. And just yeah, really paying attention to like, is this company actually making the world healthier? And is it elevating collective consciousness? Or is it just trying to extract value and chase a quick buck? There's so many peptide companies and pharmacies coming up right now because there's a lot of money in peptides and because it's a trend and everyone wants to try peptides. And to me, like if a company is just being built to sell peptides without looking at the underlying terrain, it feels like it's just trying to extract value and chase a quick buck instead of actually like resolve the root of physical symptoms and ailments, you know? And that's just one example, of course, but there are so many. So yeah, that's what I would really pay attention to.

Yuli

No, that's a solid advice. I always personally also say follow the money, right? See who's profiting from that, or see if you're being sold or manipulated because things are truly great products that do their work and need it. You don't need to be manipulated into buying them, right? They don't need to overpromise.

Meghan

For sure. And you, of course, you know, I have my programs, I have a business, but when I work with someone, my goal is not for the person to work with me forever, it's for the person to work with me for three or six months to actually fully resolve the physical symptoms and build an underlying terrain that has the capacity to, you know, navigate the next decades of life. And so, yeah, like to really resolve the root of the issues. And I think with in a lot of cases with supplements and biohacks and peptides and all these one-time quick fixes, they're just offering temporary relief. They're not actually offering you a solution that's going to stand the test of time. And I think when you actually look at the longevity space right now, those companies are very few and far between. Um that's, you know, why I'm an investor in function. You know, they're really actually providing like a solution that is changing lives and helping people become healthier. Same thing with B sound health, AI-powered breast cancer screening technology, um, especially for women with dense breasts who can't get mammograms. Like they are offering women who maybe would have never caught stage one breast cancer the opportunity to find out that they have breast cancer and to get the right treatment to resolve it. And so, yeah, I'm really a big believer in companies that are actually like really in integrity and trying to actually provide a solution that is long-lasting and can really support people. And the health industry right now and the longevity space right now is filled with a lot of companies that are not doing that. So, yeah, it just requires a level of discernment and yeah, awareness at at this stage because there's gonna continue to be more companies in the space that blow up.

Yuli

Yeah, yeah, absolutely. And while it's a great message, and I think we gave our listeners a lot of food for thoughts for sure today. And anything you would like to say to wrap this fascinating conversation or anything, maybe any like quick tips. Like we started with this idea of subtraction, right? Anything people should be looking into or considering subtracting today.

Meghan

Yeah, I mean, my biggest message is really, again, about, you know, a couple of things. So just the reframe on detoxification. Detoxification is not restriction, starvation, or deprivation. It's liberation, it's freedom. It's about supporting your body's natural detox pathways to bring your body back into its original essence, which is what you were born with, right? And that leads to my second point, which is when you think about your health and you think about optimizing your physical, mental, emotional, spiritual well-being, focus on subtraction, not addition. And so instead of thinking about, okay, what's the next thing I can buy or add to my routine, think about what is the thing that I can strip away, remove, delete, or archive. And so I think about that not only with my physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health, but really every single area of my life, my work, my relationships, my finances, my home. I'm very minimal. And so, yeah, when it comes to your physical vessel, it's like, what, what are, you know, what are the physical blockages that I can release within my physical vessel to actually support me in optimizing my health? And then in the mental, emotional, spiritual, equally as important as the physical realm, like what are the traumas or beliefs or patterns or fears that I can release or thoughts to actually come back into a state of wholeness? And yeah, I think, you know, digital detoxes, getting rid of notifications and scrolling and phones, getting rid of stimuli going into nature, like those are all really incredible solutions, especially if you're feeling really inundated and overwhelmed. And it really applies to every area of life. So I encourage you to kind of do an audit of your life and really look at what you can remove instead of add. That's really my philosophy overall.

Yuli

I love a life audit, absolutely.

Meghan

Yeah, I actually do. I have an attention audit framework on my Substack that I just published. I wrote an article about, yeah, I write a lot about physical detox, but I wrote an article recently about the six other forms of detox that are in other areas of life. And then I also published an article about an attention audit that I sometimes have my clients do. So it's something I really highly recommend to anyone and everyone looking to optimize.

Yuli

I love that. Well, thank you for all this wonderful advice. It was such a pleasure to have you. And thank you. Thank you again.

Meghan

Thanks so much. Thanks so much for having me.
